You will have colour for over 6 months of the year, as Penstemon 'Raven' boasts a profusion of dark purple, bell-shaped blooms held on many strong, wiry stems above mid green, semi-evergreen foliage from May to October, often longer. And you won't need to battle against slugs and snails either, as Penstemon are not eaten by any garden pests but are love by bees.A member of the 'Bird Series' of Penstemon, introduced in the 1960's, which also includes 'Osprey', 'Flamingo' 'Whitethroat' and 'Blackbird'.Penstemon 'Raven' has been given the RHS Award of Garden Merit for outstanding performance in the garden.
