As beautiful as a bride on her special day. Crisp, clear, ivory-white, trumpet-shaped blooms open from pure white buds. Amassing atop wiry, upright green stems from May, they bloom from late spring, through the summer until October and often longer. One of the ‘Pensham’ group of penstemons, bred by the well-known breeder Edward Wilson to survive lower winter temperatures and flower for longer periods even through a cold autumn. Penstemon ‘Pensham Wedding Day’ was specially named by Edward for his daughter Sally’s wedding – each table at the reception was adorned with a different Pensham Penstemon. Much loved by bees and other pollinators, but slug, snail, rabbit, and deer resistant, Penstemon ‘Pensham Wedding Day’ reaches a mature height of approximately 80cm, and spreads 45-60cm. Given an RHS hardiness rating of H4, some protection over winter may be needed if temperatures go below -10° C.
