Tell Me More...
Penstemon Pensham 'Just Jayne' displays clusters of tubular, bright rose-pink blooms with streaked white throats. Flowers are held on strong, slender stems above semi-evergreen foliage from May to October. One of the Pensham Penstemon range, developed by the well-known breeder Edward Wilson, 'Just Jayne' is said to have been named after Edward's main propagator. The story goes - when Edward mentioned the idea to her, rather than reveal her full name, it was suggested to call it 'just Jayne'. Penstemon Pensham 'Just Jayne', like other Penstemon, is an easy-going and incredibly hard-working plant. Oblivious of drought or rain and positively thriving in most soil conditions. Happy, in containers or borders, sun or partial shade. Furthermore, you will not need to battle against slugs and snails, as Penstemon are not eaten by any garden pests and yet are much loved by bees as a valuable source of nectar. Being a hardy perennial, Penstemon 'Just Jayne' does not require any additional winter protection in most of the UK and will reach a height of approximately 70-90cm, spreading to between 45-60cm.
