Tell Me More...
Pretty pale pink, bell-shaped blooms cluster on densely packed, wiry stems. The inside of each bloom is beautifully streaked with dark red-pink markings.Named after the famous garden in Gloucestershire which was owned and created by the garden designer and plantsman, Lawrence Johnston but only brought into the public eye by the National Trust since the mid 1950’s. Penstemon ‘Hidcote Pink’ has been given the RHS Award of Garden Merit for outstanding performance in the garden. Best planted in well-drained soil in a sunny or partially shaded spot, in borders or containers, thirsty nectar-loving insects will visit for a treat while slugs, rabbits, deer and other garden pests tend to steer clear of the glossy, semi-evergreen foliage. Penstemon ‘Hidcote Pink’ grows to a mature height of around 90cm and will spread to between 45-60cm. Given an RHS hardiness rating of H3, some protection over winter may be needed if temperatures go below -5° C.
