Tell Me More...
Clusters of elegant, open-mouthed, tubular blooms in shades of mauve and lilac, with white, purple-streaked throats make Penstemon 'Pensham Dorothy Wilson' one of the most breath-taking of all Penstemon. With so many blooms held on each tall stem, you will see bees and other pollinators drawn to your garden all summer and still have plenty to cut and bring into your home. One of the Pensham range of Penstemon, bred by the well-known breeder Edward Wilson, who focused on bringing strength and vigour to his new cultivars, Penstemon 'Pensham Dorothy Wilson' was named after his mother.Penstemon 'Pensham Dorothy Wilson' is happiest when positioned in moist, well-drained soil in a sunny spot, although partial shade will happily be tolerated. Growing to around 1m tall, each plant will spread to between 45-60cm. The RHS suggest a hardiness rating of H4, so protection will not be required if the temperatures stay above -10 C.
