Tell Me More...
Penstemon ‘Apple Blossom’ produces tall stems which hold clusters of small, pale pink bell-shaped blooms with white throats above neat and compact, verdant foliage. As the name suggests, flowers very closely resemble the much-loved shades of apple tree blossom and emerge in May, lasting through to October time. Penstemon, also known as ‘Beardtongue’, are some of the most versatile, valued and floriferous perennials you can grow in your garden. Great for adding to a vase, they are also adored by bees, butterflies, and pollinators. A must have for any garden, giving you colour for up to five months of the year, sometimes longer and greatly aiding your garden’s continuity of interest from spring, into summer and extending to autumn. You won't need to battle against slugs and snails either, as Penstemon ‘Apple Blossom’ will not be eaten by any garden pests. Plants prefer well-drained soil of any kind and a position in full sun or partial shade. A hardy (H4), semi-evergreen perennial which reaches 80cm tall and spreads to 60cm.
