Gently trailing down to around 60cm from baskets, window boxes and containers, the perky, long-lasting, and hard-wearing blooms of Pelargonium peltatum ‘Cascade Sofie’ are produced from June to October. The delicate blooms are held on long lax stems above the dark green distinctive foliage. Incredibly heat and drought tolerant, the lush, fleshy foliage bears an uncanny resemblance to hedera, hence the common name of ivy-leaf Geranium. Pelargonium peltatum ‘Cascade Sofie’ are extremely floriferous, each bloom consists of 5 long petals, with contrasting dark maroon markings. And being self-cleaning, no deadheading is required. Loved by bees and butterflies, Pelargonium peltatum 'Cascade Sofie' will reach a height and spread of 50cm. A tender annual, with an RHS hardiness rating H1C, so needs to be kept above 5°C. Cuttings can easily be taken to give you more plants the following year. Prefers full sun, in moist, well-drained soil, but will happily tolerate light shade.
