Tell Me More...
A charming heritage variety which has been lighting up spring gardens since 1884. Narcissus 'Rip Van Winkle' is compact and cheery with star-shaped, vivid yellow blooms which light up your borders and pots in March and April like mini-fireworks. Stems up to 14cm tall bear the golden-yellow flushed green petals which build layer upon layer to form pom-pom like blooms. Beautiful planted alongside other spring-flowering bulbs such as dwarf-tulips, hyacinths, and muscari.Plant your bulbs during autumn, in a sunny spot on well-drained soil at a depth of 10cm for a spring explosion of colour and scent. Beguiling in pots or rockeries or naturalised in drifts through grassy areas and borders. Narcissus 'Rip Van Winkle' is a hardy bulbous perennial which will flower for years with no winter protection required when it is planted in the ground. However, bulbs in pots may require additional protection as they are not so well insulated.
