Pure gold for your gardenOne of the earliest flowering of all daffodils, Narcissus 'Rijnveld's Early Sensation' will often start to bloom in January.A weather resistant heirloom variety, warm, solitary yellow blooms, with golden petals and corona (cup) make a welcome splash of colour at the end of the winter. In Greek mythology, Narcissus was a hunter and many fell in love with this beautiful young man, however he only showed them contempt. Becoming entranced by his reflection in a pool of water, he drowned himself because he could not have the object of his desire and was turned into a flower. Nowadays, the daffodil is the national flower of Wales and is beloved by everyone, being one of the first flowers to herald the arrival of spring. Narcissus 'Rijnveld's Early Sensation' makes a wonderful, long-lasting cut flower for your home. Preferring to be grown in well-drained soil in a sunny or partially shaded spot, it is rabbit and deer resistant, and will reach a height of 35-40cm, spread 10-15cm.
