Looking more like a ruffled dahlia or peony, Narcissus Irene Copeland is an exquisite and showy triple daffodil. Bred by the legendary daffodil breeder, William Copeland during WW1, Narcissus Irene Copeland was named after his youngest daughter. Treasured and handed down by several generations since, this large frilly heirloom is making a comeback.White and lemon-yellow petals are intricately arranged into large triple flowerheads, resembling a multi-layered petticoat on stems up to an impressive 50cm tall. Plant your bulbs at any time in autumn, in a sunny spot on well-drained soil at a depth of 10cm for an eye-catching display in March and April. Daffodils are deer and rabbit resistant, naturalising well in clumps or drifts through borders and grassy areas, they are a true spring delight that we all look forward to. This Historic variety also looks gorgeous in pots with other spring flowering bulbs.
