We love watching Narcissus Ice Follies each spring as the large blooms open lemon-yellow then fade to almost white as they mature.Flowers are borne on sturdy 40cm stems, shaped in the classic daffodil form. The central colour-changing trumpet is beautifully crinkled.Sweetly scented narcissi make wonderful cut flowers, lasting up to a week in the vase. Allow cut stems to condition in water overnight if adding to other blooms as their stems leak a sap which can shorten the vase-life of other flowers.Plant your bulbs at any time in autumn, in a sunny spot on well-drained soil at a depth of 15cm for a glorious display next spring.Daffodils are deer and rabbit resistant, and Narcissus Ice Follies looks fabulous when planted in graceful drifts through borders and grassy areas where they will naturalise beautifully.
