Myosotis palustris Semperflorens is a shorter and more floriferous variety of Myosotis. Clusters of small, light blue blooms with bright yellow eye, are held above low evergreen mounds of foliage from June to August. A most attractive plant to grow, in or near, your pond. As an herbaceous perennial, there is little care required. A native British plant and suited to pond margins, where it softens pond edges. Spreading into neat cushions using creeping rhizomes, the blooms almost hover, giving an airy feel. Much love by bees and butterflies, deer and rabbits tend to leave well alone. In Ancient Greek, Myosotis is said to mean 'Mouse's ear,' after the shape of each leaf. Myosotis scorpioides 'Semperflorens' prefers to be grown in moist soil in sun or part shade and is happy in water up to 10cm deep. Reaching a height of around 30cm and spreading to 40cm, she is a fully hardy perennial with an RHS rating of H6.
