Tell Me More...
With an abundance of trumpet shaped flowers from May right through to October each year these bounteous beauties will add warmth, depth and sizzle to your planting year after year. All three plants in the Munificent Penstemon Collection hold the RHS Award of Garden Merit and are recognised for their reliably outstanding performance and adaptability. Happy to take centre stage in herbaceous borders and able to thrive in containers or raised beds too, their reddish hues are sure to attract positive comments and draw in beneficial pollinators. Munificent Penstemon Collection comprises: 'Rich Ruby' - the colour of a fantastic jewel or good claret (H: 60cm); 'Maurice Gibb' - a dazzling white throat, surrounded by intense purple-red (H: 80cm); and hartwegii 'Firebird' - will rise, phoenix-like, on fiery red stems to blaze with colour (H: 90cm).Prefer a spot in well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade. Hardy and half-hardy, semi-evergreen perennials - with 'Rich Ruby' needing protection from frost over winter.
