Tell Me More...
One of the taller varieties of monarda which can reach nearly a metre in height! The flowers of Monarda didyma 'Cambridge Scarlet' have an unusual form - whereby whorls of narrow-petalled, tufted flowers are framed by colourful bracts which blend and merge with the blooms themselves. We love the funky flowers and vibrant colours of this variety.Bergamot flowers prolifically from June to September, adding a rich radiance to your borders, window boxes and containers. Also known as Bee Balm because these much-loved pollinators find the flowers irresistible. Blooms are also suitable for adding to bouquets and vases, where their rich, herby scent can be enjoyed indoors. We recommend that you plant Monarda didyma 'Cambridge Scarlet' near a pathway or seating area so that you can make the most of its aromatic qualities outside too.Plants prefer a spot in moist, well-drained soil which benefits from full sun or partial shade.
