The beautiful dark green narrow leaves boldly edged with cream of Molinia caerulea 'Variegata' will make a classy display in your garden, add to this airy plumes of purple flowers from July to September for an extra show.Also known as Purple Moor Grass, Molinia caerulea 'Variegata' is compact and clump forming making it perfect for growing in all gardens but in particular, smaller gardens or containers. Growing to a mature height and spread of 60cm, plant individually as a statement plant or in swathes to create a prairie style garden.Classed as fully hardy with an RHS rating of H7, Molinia caerulea 'Variegata' will thrive in acidic or neutral soil in full sun or dappled shade and will not require additional winter protection. Happy to naturalise if left and benefitting from being drought tolerant when established. An herbaceous perennial that is pest free and does not appeal to rabbits or deer.
