Strictly speaking these are not both Mukdenia, as one is a hybrid of Mukdenia and Bergenia which draws on the best qualities of both. However, Meritable Mukdenia Duo plants have similar assets in the form of the large, robust and colourful foliage produced from March to October. This emerges verdant green, often tipped with bronze and red, with leaves putting on a spectacular show in autumn. In March and April strong stems of pretty white or red flowers emerge – lasting to late spring or early summer. Blooms add precious colour when spring bulbs are fading, and summer blooms are just beginning to perform, helping your garden transition between the seasons.
Your duo comprises Mukdenia rossii ‘Karasuba’ with its creamy white blooms; and Mukgenia hybrid ‘Nova Flame’ with red-pink flowers.
