Tell Me More...
Mentha spicata ‘Lamb Chops’ is one of the easiest culinary herbs to grow and an essential herb for those who wish to grow their own. Ideal for planting in confined spaces or containers as, once it has established, it can become a little too enthusiastic! In fact, you could say it is indestructible and greatly valued for its aromatic qualities – perfect for a tisane, the much-loved mint sauce, adding to savoury and sweet dishes or even the odd cocktail. This new variety bears pretty magenta pink flowers from June to August, held over dark green leaves with a reflective sheen. Flowers are a magnet for bees and other pollinators and plants mature to a height of 60cm and spread of 45cm. A hardy (H6), herbaceous perennial which likes a moist, well-drained soil of any kind and a position in full sun or partial shade of any aspect.
