The Masterful Monarda Collection brings busy, buzzy blooms to your garden from early summer to autumn in an array of pinks and reds. All of this sumptuous trio make fragrant and fascinating additions to containers and open ground where they will be the star attraction for bees, who simply adore these colourful blooms.
Collection comprises: AGM holding ‘Beauty of Cobham’ H: 90cm; resplendent didyma ‘Cambridge Scarlet’ H: 90cm; and the petite yet perfect didyma ‘Pink Lace’ H: 45cm. The flowers have an unusual form – whereby whorls of narrow-petalled, tufted flowers are framed by colourful bracts which blend and merge with the blooms themselves. Foliage is simple in form, often with contrastingly coloured veins. Leaves are highly aromatic and emerge in spring, remaining until the first frosts – the foliage can be used to make herbal infusions or teas. Plant monarda near a pathway or seating area to take full advantage of the heavenly, spicy scent as you brush or agitate the leaves.
