Award-winning magnolia which holds an AGM from the Royal Horticultural Society for its outstanding and reliable performance in the garden. Flowers on Magnolia acuminata x 'Elizabeth' are produced in April and May, emerging on bare stems and lending an unusual lemon-yellow colour alongside a sweet, light and slightly fruity scent. Foliage is large, like the flowers, and bronze when it first appears, changing to green in summer and then golden-yellow in autumn.Magnolia acuminata x 'Elizabeth' likes a spot in sun or partial shade which benefits from moist, well-drained soil with plenty of organic matter.
