Lily-flowered tulips bring exquisite, fluted goblet shaped blooms with softly pointed petals, which reflex, reminiscent of a crown and when planted ‘en-masse’, they are a sight to behold.
This ‘Luxurious Lily-flowered Tulip Collection’ comprises; ‘Ballerina’ AGM – sweetly scented blooms with vibrant orange petals, each one streaked with deeper orange shades, height 60cm; ‘White Triumphator’ – beautiful and elegant, pure, crisp white blooms, height 60cm; and ‘China Pink’ – sugary-pink petals darken as they mature, opening wide to reveal an inner white base and golden stamen, height 50cm.
Tulips are perfect for borders and containers and make excellent cut flowers. Blooms will last a week or longer in the vase if the water is changed regularly and the bottom of the stems are trimmed each time. Plant your hardy (H6) Tulipa bulbs around 15cm deep in well-drained soil, in the autumn. Position in full sun with any aspect except north facing and you can expect flowers in April and May the following year.
