With its flaming plumes of fiery coloured petals which rise in upright spikes during June and July Lupinus 'Towering Inferno' will not go unnoticed in your borders this season. The strong, proud, and dramatic stems are typical of our nation's best breeder of lupins - West Country Lupins - from whence these beauties originate. This lupin is an outstanding example of their years of knowledge and expertise. Lush, palmate foliage emerges in March and remains right through to October time - with its spreading and decorative form leaves add gap-filling interest even when flowers are not present.Lupinus 'Towering Inferno' prefers a spot in moist, well drained soil which benefits from full sun or partial shade and any aspect other than north-facing. A hardy, herbaceous perennial which is able to cope with temperatures down to -10 C without additional winter protection. Plants should survive well throughout most of the UK and will mature to a height of 90cm with a spread of around 60cm.
