Tell Me More...
Should you ever have the pleasure to visit New York, walk across the Brooklyn Bridge as dusk starts to fall. You will see the offices in the skyscrapers start to turn on their lights. The white lights against the dark silhouette of the buildings frame are mesmerising. However, what is more impressive is the UK's premier breeder of lupins managing to capture the New York evening skyline in a plant. Lupin Manhattan Lights has bright yellow flowers set amongst dark purple flowers. The towering spires of this lupin and the way the colours interact, replicates the vista of Manhattan at sundown. This is a beautiful lupin and certainly one to grow. A perennial which produces its purple and yellow 'skyscraper' each summer. Lupins are a mainstay of cottage garden style planting and Manhattan Lights will make you want to 'Start spreadin' the news'. Very impressive.
