An exciting new generation of lupin, which does not compromise on the impact or abundance of blooms yet is a little smaller in stature. Lupinus polyphyllus ‘Legendary Red Shades’ has luscious, blue-green palmate foliage, held from March to October. Leaves are impactful in their own right and able to decoratively fill gaps in borders or give verdant interest to containers for months at a time. In June and July pea-like flowers are held on strong, upright stems offering shades of scarlet and deeper, cherry-red. Perfect for cutting to add to a vase, these pollinator enticing towers create dramatic splashes of colour inside your home as well as in your garden and reach a height of 80cm, with a spread of 60cm. Lupinus polyphyllus ‘Legendary Red Shades’ prefers a spot in fertile, moist, well-drained soil which is loam or sand based with an acid or neutral pH.
