Statuesque stems will put on a stunning floral show from July until October. The rich purple hued flowers still offer colour when many summer blooms are spent. Racemes of vibrant flowers adorn purple stalks above clumps of bronze-green foliage. Stems also make a fantastic addition to your vases and bouquets. These plants originated in southern Africa before finding their way to Madagascar, Australia, North and South America, Asia and the Mediterranean. All in this genus have simple leaves and striking, tubular flowers with 2 smaller petals on the upper lip and 3 larger petals on the lower lip. Lobelia x speciosa 'Tania' makes an intriguing addition to either the edge of your pond, an herbaceous border or patio container. Plants happily naturalise as well as luring in bees and for a nectar-rich feast.A hardy perennial which thrives in moist (not waterlogged) soil which benefits from full sun or partial shade. Water well in periods of drought for best results.
