Tell Me More...
With its ‘blushing cherry’ interior and voluminous, open faced flowers from April through to September this is a ‘must have’ for lavatera lovers. Lavatera Marshmallow ‘Cherry Blush’ is a medium sized variety which reaches 1.5 metres in height and spread – ideal for a large container as well as a shrubby border or sunny corner. With verdant foliage held from March to October, this compact mallow is also ideal for filling gaps in your planting and flowering stems look radiant cut for a vase inside your home. Perfect for pollinators, who adore the nectar-rich open blooms and drought tolerant once established. Native to dry, rocky places (often near the coast) lavatera prefer light, moderately fertile, well-drained soil in full sun with shelter from the wind in frost prone areas. Lavatera Marshmallow ‘Cherry Blush’ is a hardy, deciduous shrub which loses its leaves over winter and becomes dormant, reinvigorating in the following spring and for many years to come.
