Tell Me More...
With its electric pink tufted flowers and magical grey green foliage Lavandula stoechas ‘The Princess’ is already an established favourite with many gardeners. As well as its enchanting beauty, this Lavandula is enduring - with blooms held from May through to August if regularly deadheaded. The blooms are a haven for bees and other pollinators and add colour, intense fragrance and calming impact to your planting. Suitable for borders, rockeries, containers and raised beds, stems can also be cut for a vase to add interest inside your home. Originating from the Mediterranean, where they grow wild in the hot dry conditions, lavender have been long known for their therapeutic qualities. The oil from lavender has been used for centuries in cosmetics and fragrances, and medicinally too, because of the antiseptic and anti-inflammatory benefits. Lavandula stoechas ‘The Princess’ prefers to be grown in well-drained soil with a sunny aspect which is not north-facing. Hardy in most of the UK,
