Heavenly pink and red hues with plentiful perfume A fabulously prolific bloomer, championed for its exceptional fragrance and strong, long-stemmed blooms which are a result of new breeding developments. The saturation of colour in Lathyrus odoratus ‘Love Saves the Day’ is second to none and these beauties are especially cultivated to bring you deep plugs with strong roots and a minimum of 4 young plants per plug. Mature stems are perfect when cut for a vase inside your home where they will spread sweet and splendid perfume. Pick or deadhead regularly to ensure a continuance of flowers from June to October. Interestingly, sweet peas are native to Sicily, Cyprus and Southern Italy – said to have been sent to the UK by a Sicilian monk in the 17th century. As with many plants, they became increasingly popular during the Victorian era, when they were cultivated by a gentleman named Henry Eckford.
