Known also as the Everlasting Sweet Pea, Lathyrus latifolius is a colourful, reliable and easy to grow perennial climber which will give you armfuls of cut flowers all summer long; unscented yet beautiful. Just cut them back in the autumn and Pink Pearl will shoot again in the spring. Climbing a trellis, scrambling through a shrub, or spreading across the ground, the racemes of pea-like flowers will create a beautiful display. Bumblebees visit to pollinate the flowers and butterflies visit to feast on the nectar. Lathyrus Pink Pearl has received the Award of Garden Merit from the Royal Horticultural Society for outstanding performance in the garden.As a leguminous plant, Lathyrus Pink Pearl will put nitrogen back into the soil which benefits surrounding plants. Lathyrus latifolius prefer to be grown in well-drained soil in sun or part shade. Reaching a height of 200cm (6') and does not require any protection during the winter months. Remember to collect the seed in order you can have more plants the following year.
