Golden, hooded, spreading beauties for dappled shade
Lamiastrum galeobdolon ‘Florentinum’ is an intriguing, non-native wildflower, which is well-established in parts of the UK. Flowers have exotic markings, not dissimilar to miniature exotic orchids, which are held on tall, multi-flowered stems commencing in May and lasting until July each year. With a trailing, spreading habit plants reach out as far as one metre and these golden blooms will bring a glowing, candelabra effect to shaded areas in the garden.
The foliage of Lamiastrum galeobdolon ‘Florentinum’ is evergreen, coarsely serrated and splashed with wonderful, silvery-white marks - bringing extended interest when flowers have faded.
