Generous and sparkling blooms from May through to October against a backdrop of simple serrated, robust leaves which emerge in March and last through to the first frosts. Flowers are multi-layered and look like miniature roses. Blooms appear in abundant waves, with multitudes of buds waiting in line to burst open as their predecessor’s fade. Petals have a paler underside which ‘glimmers’ against the rich colour above – hence the ‘glimmer’ in the name. Irresistible Impatiens Trio comprises Impatiens walleriana 'Glimmer Double Orange'; Impatiens walleriana ‘Glimmer Double Burgundy’; and Impatiens walleriana ‘Glimmer Double White’. All reach a height of 40cm with a spread of around 30cm and grow to form opulent mounds in containers, baskets or open ground, where they make excellent, long-lasting groundcover. Remember to deadhead keenly for continuity of displays. As tender, herbaceous perennials Impatiens are most often grown as annual bedding plants – they can, however, be overwintered
