Tell Me More...
With its lilac-white falls and standards dramatically edged by shades of purple, Iris germanica 'Pastel Printanier' is sure to be coveted in gardens across the UK. The perfect choice to cut for floral displays when it blooms from May into June, it will happily settle in pots, borders or gravel gardens and last for years, spreading its fabulous colours as it grows. Flowers are held above a fan of swordlike leaves which emerges in March and is retained until September time. Fascinatingly, each bloom has a golden ‘beard’ to its centre – acting as a guiding light to bees and other pollinators who will not only pollinate the flowers, they will feast on the nectar too. Plant in well-drained soil of any type except chalk based as your iris likes a soil with an acid to neutral pH. Ensure that your plant receives full sun or partial shade with any aspect other than north facing. Iris germanica 'Pastel Printanier' is a hardy herbaceous perennial, which will withstand temperatures to around
