Golden shades from warming blooms which are held on long, strong stems from May to June. Iris germanica 'Scintilla' produces rich, green sword-like foliage to offset the wonderfully frilled and generous flowers above. Blooms emerge in May and June with unusual, rich golden fall petals and creamy white standards accompanied by a striated interior or 'signal patch' and the classic interior 'beard'. A muted colourway which, nonetheless, will make its presence felt wherever you choose to plant it. Iris germanica 'Scintilla' is suitable for either container growing or a border, and these bicoloured wonders look great planted in rows along a fence or hedge, interspersed with low growing perennials.Iris germanica 'Scintilla' are loved by pollinators and perfect for a vase or other floral display. Plant in well-drained soil which benefits from full sun or partial shade. Be sure to situate rhizomes on the soil surface as they like to be 'baked' by the sun (although not completely dried out) and will flower better the following year as a consequence. A hardy, herbaceous perennial which reaches 80cm tall and spreads up to 50cm.
