Tell Me More...
Whilst it can be thought of as rude to impose, these are guests who you will welcome into your garden and encourage to remain for years to come. Imposing Hosta Collection brings you giant, heart-shaped leaves from March to October or November time, with strong stems of trumpet shaped flowers in June and July which are loved by pollinators and make a great inclusion in a vase too. Huge leaves are deeply veined and giving a sculptural wave-like impact along with variegated contrast in two varieties. Imposing Hosta Collection comprises newcomer Orions Belt, with wide cream margins on glaucous leaves (H: 70cm S: 1.2m); AGM holding Pauls Glory which emerges bicoloured green and develops golden, variegated colour as it matures (H&S: 1m); and new, AGM holder Sum & Substance which bears single coloured, chartreuse green leaves and has an eager, spreading habit (H: 90cm S: 1.5m). All prefer moist, well-drained soil in partial to full shade and are suitable for most soils, excepting chalky or sandy ones. Fully hardy, herbaceous perennials, happy in any aspect other than south facing, which do not need additional winter protection.
