Puschkinia is a beautiful flowering bulbous perennial which not many gardeners know about. This smaller relative of the hyacinth originated in Lebanon and the Caucasus region.and because of these origins grows wonderfully in rock gardens and woodland-style plantings. Each Puschikinia bulb produces a single stem atop which sits a cluster of flowers, producing a delightful aroma. In this collection are two of our favourite Puschkinia: Puschkinia libanotica - perhaps the most famous Puschkinia, the stems carry up to 10 blue-blushed white flowers, which have a faint blue stripe down the length of each petal; Puschkinia libanotica 'Alba' - Known as the White Russian Snowdrops, pretty Puschkinia Alba are charming little wildflowers, dainty spikes carry masses of star-like, pure-white flowers which bloom in March and are delicately fragranced. If you have never grown Puschkinia before they are easy and a great addition to the garden.
