Tell Me More...
Much-admired Hypericum 'Magical White' works hard in your garden to put on an enchanting show across the seasons. Radiant golden blooms appear in abundance from June to July, enticing pollinators from far and wide. These luminous flowers give this plant its name: 'Hyperion' was the Titan god of Heavenly Light, and father of Helios (also known as the Sun). After the sunshine blooms come snow-white berries: clusters of sparkling pearls appear in the autumn and mature to black, providing sustenance for wildlife. The backdrop of aromatic, glossy foliage is semi-evergreen, offering ongoing interest. Hypericum 'Magical White' makes an excellent, long-lasting cut stem, enhancing arrangements whether with the blooms, berries, or foliage. This compact, rust-resistant variety reaches a height and spread of 90cm and performs well in both borders and containers. Hypericum will flourish in a sheltered position in part shade or full sun, planted in any moist, well-drained soil.
