Hydrangea paniculata 'Mojito' is a stunning variety which is known for its large, cone-shaped flowerheads of lime-green flowers that blush a gorgeous pale pink at the end of summer. Reminiscent of the well-known classic Cuban cocktail, the origins of which are said to have been from the 1500's when a similar medicinal drink was named after Sir Francis Drake. With a relatively long flowering time, the flowerheads are produced in profusion from July through to October. This sturdy shrub will be a fantastic focal point where it is planted in the garden or put in a pot, where it will reach a mature height of 1m, spreading up to 1.2m. Fully hardy with an RHS rating of H7, meaning it should cope with temperatures of down to -20 C or lower. Hydrangea paniculata 'Mojito' is deciduous so will lose the foliage over winter, ready to sprout again in the spring. Best planted in moist, well-drained soil in a sunny or partially shaded position.
