Tell Me More...
Hydrangea macrophylla 'Madame Emile Mouillre' is a popular, award winning mophead hydrangea which is ideal for brightening a partly shaded border. From June to August, impressive flowerheads are created by a plethora of smaller, white blooms which gain a slight pink blush as they mature. Bees and other pollinators will be enticed into your garden in summer searching for nectar and pollen. A wonderful, long-lasting cut flower for a vase, it also dries beautifully for your indoor dried flower arrangements.Given the RHS Award of Garden Merit for outstanding performance in the garden, Hydrangea macrophylla 'Madame Emile Mouillre' prefers to be grown in moist, well-drained soil in a partially shaded spot. Reaching a maximum height and spread of up to 2.5m, it will become dormant over winter. A hardy perennial with an RHS rating of H5, (-15 C) which will lose the leaves over winter, ready to sprout again the following spring.
