A new arrival for 2024, Hydrangea arborescens ‘Pink Annabelle’ is one of a compact range of hydrangea with a bushy habit and large, almost spherical, clusters of rich, pink blooms. Plants reach a height and spread of 1.5 metres –the perfect size for a container and ideal to use for low, decorous hedging. Foliage is oval, serrated and deeply veined adding verdant interest from March to November time. Blooms emerge in July, lasting through to September, and can be cut to be used for a vase, either fresh or dried. Hydrangea arborescens ‘Pink Annabelle’ is also a marvellous way to add colour and interest to patios, balconies and herbaceous borders, with blooms up to 30cm across held on strong stems. Plants prefer moist, well-drained acidic to neutral soil of any kind except heavy clay. Position in full sun or partial shade to make the most of these hardy (H6) deciduous shrubs.
