Opulent and intensely fragrant, the flowers of Hyacinthus orientalis 'Woodstock' make an unusual and enchanting addition to the garden throughout April and May. Clustered in densely packed racemes, the waxy, star-shaped flowers are a rich plum-maroon, held above a bed of glossy green leaves. Combine with other spring flowers such as tulips, narcissi, and fritillaria for a dazzling early season mix, or plant in generous drifts for maximum colour and scent impact. Perfect for borders, containers, and window boxes, as well as making excellent cut flowers. Pick the blooms when just one third of the flowers are open to enjoy their beauty and perfume inside your home. Hyacinthus orientalis 'Woodstock' prefer to be planted in well drained, moderately fertile soil which benefits from full sun or partial shade. A hardy, bulbous perennial which reaches a height of 30cm and spreads to 15cm.
