How to plant Philotheca
Philotheca are best planted in well-drained soil of chalk, clay, loam and sand. Prepare the planting area by digging a hole that is twice the width of the pot and just over the depth. Amend the native planting area with compost and mix well. Place your plant into the dedicated hole so that the top of the root ball is level with the surrounding soil. Back fill and water thoroughly to settle into place. Philotheca are best suited to a sheltered position of full sun or part shade.
How to care for Philotheca
Water your shrubs once or twice per week when the soil becomes dry, especially during immaturity. Once into maturity Philotheca are relatively drought tolerant. Philotheca will also grow well in pots. There should be little need for pruning but this can be undertaken if your plants become untidy or misshapen.
How to propagate Philotheca
It is possible to propagate Philotheca by semi-ripe cuttings or alternatively by seed.
