Tell Me More...
White flamed leaves that are sure to draw attention.Hosta 'Sting' may be a smaller member of the Hosta family, but what it lacks in size, it certainly makes up for in personality. Bearing dense, broad, dark green leaves with a central cream flame from the base and clusters of bell-shaped, pale purple flowers, it will bloom from June to August.Otherwise known as Plantain Lily, Hosta 'Sting' is perfect for growing in moist, shady areas in cottage and courtyard gardens and will reach a height of 50cm and a spread of 1m. They are classed as a fully hardy (H7) perennial by the RHS, dying back in the autumn and shooting again the following spring. Happy to grow anywhere other than in direct sun, they thrive in moist, well-drained soil and are perfect for groundcover or under planting.Hostas are clump forming, so very straightforward to propagate by division in early spring or late summer as and when required.
