Tell Me More...
Hosta ‘Lemon Snap’ is sure to stop you in your tracks and belongs to a whole new generation of Hosta. These are unusually coloured, with cupped yellow leaves complemented by striking red stems and veins - all with the added touch of pretty purple bell-shaped flowers from June to August. Certainly not a demure or dainty inclusion to your planting! Otherwise known as Plantain Lily, Hosta ‘Lemon Snap’ will add a wonderful texture to your garden and placing a few leaves to a vase of fresh cut flowers will transform any bouquet with its richly coloured stems and zesty leaves. Growing to a height of 30cm, with a spread of 40cm, plants are classed as fully hardy (H7) by the RHS and do not need any additional winter protection. Plant in full sun or partial shade with benefits from any type of moist, well-drained soil. The colour of Hosta ‘Lemon Snap’ is amplified by some sunshine for at least part of the day. An herbaceous perennial which dies back below ground over winter and then returns, reinvigorated, the following spring. Hosta are clump forming and very straightforward to propagate by division in early spring or late summer as and when required.
