Tell Me More...
Glossy leaved shade-lover with pretty summer blooms As with most hostas, Hosta ‘Devon Green’ is mainly grown for its dense, clump-forming foliage. This slightly unusual variety has mid-size leaves, around 15cm long, with a glossy sheen to their pronounced mid-rib, veined surface. In August or September tall, strong stems bear tubular lilac blooms. If flowers are not needed, they can be removed at the base and make an excellent inclusion in a vase. Hosta ‘Devon Green’ holds the RHS Award of Garden Merit for its outstanding performance in the garden. It will certainly transform a damp, shady corner into a lush haven. Plant in rich, moist, well-drained soil which is clay or loam based and has any aspect other than south facing. A hardy, herbaceous perennial which reaches up
