From the Crisp series of heuchera, noted for its deeply ruffled foliage, 'Apple Crisp' forms a compact, tight mound of bright green leaves, each frosted with a silver sheen. The series is particularly floriferous, producing masses of tall, slender stems topped with loose, delicate sprays of small, cream flowers. These are highly attractive to pollinators, as well as being good for cutting. Heuchera is an easy ground cover plant; happy in a range of conditions, and able to tolerate extremes of heat. Prefers fertile, moist, well-drained, neutral soil, in sun or partial shade. Full shade may be tolerated if soil is consistently moist. H&S: 30cm x 40cm. Hardy, semi-evergreen perennial (though may be deciduous in colder conditions). It is worth noting that the woody rootstock of heuchera tends to push upwards. To prevent untidiness, mulch annually, as well as lifting and replanting at a greater depth every 2-3 years.
