Tell Me More...
Like a child on Christmas Day, Helleborus niger ‘Christmas Carol’ will be full of seasonal spirit. Eager to share its beauty, this eye-catching perennial boasts large, gleaming white blooms with dazzling golden yellow stamens. Peeking out proudly, no matter how cold the weather, each petal develops a soft pink blush as they mature. Helleborus are one of the most popular winter flowering blooms and can often be seen flourishing on Christmas Day. Fully hardy perennials, Helleborus will naturalise if given moist, well-drained soil in full or partial shade. Often praised for their tolerance of drought and ability to cope with neglect they will even bloom through cold winter snow when most other plants are dormant. With their sturdy stems and clump-forming habit, these seasonal delights are sure to lift the gloomiest of winter days. Reaching a mature height and spread of around 35cm, Helleborus niger ‘Christmas Carol’ is a fully hardy perennial boasting evergreen foliage, which does not require any winter protection.
