Tell Me More...
A spectacular new member of the well-loved family, introduced in 2021, Helleborus niger 'Snowdrift' is creating quite a stir.Large, white, saucer-shaped blooms with a double row of crisp white petals of varying lengths. Creating a ruff-like ring, they encircle a green centre which is adorned with bright, golden yellow stamens. Facing outwards, each bloom can be closely admired while it attracts winter feeding bees and other pollinators for a much-needed feast.Clumps of the trademark, dark green, almost leathery foliage create a stark contrast. Loved by florists at an often sparse time of year, the strong stems ensure you will have long-lasting cut flowers for your winter indoor floral arrangements.Helleborus niger 'Snowdrift' prefers to be grown in a fully or partially shaded position, in moist but well-draining soil where it will reach a height of 20-30cm, spreading up to 45cm. A fully hardy, semi-evergreen perennial to -20 C and lower.
