Tell Me More...
Like colourful crinolines, flowers in the Helleborus Petticoats Collection emerge throughout January to May adding spots, speckles and flashes of colour to areas of the garden which benefit from some shade. Suited to both borders and containers and perfect for a woodland area too. Glossy, leathery, palmate leaves which are held for most of the year have decorative serrated edges and mottled markings - bringing extended interest when the blooms fade. Flowers are ideal for early pollinators and also make a great inclusion in a vase.Collection comprises: exciting new arrival x hybridus 'Double Ellen Flash' with rich burgundy markings and splotches of even darker hues; x hybridus 'Double Ellen Picotee'- delicately edged with pink; and x hybridus 'Double Ellen White Spotted' freckled with dark purple marks which really catch your eye. All will reach a height and spread of around 35cm.Helleborus Petticoats Collection plants prefer moist, well-drained, rich soil in partial to full shade. As fully hardy, semi-evergreen perennials they need no winter protection throughout the UK.
