Tell Me More...
New for 2024, select British breeding has developed this compact, eye-catching shrub which is just perfect for container or the edge of a border. Ideal for those of us with smaller gardens due to its 50cm height and spread – it will even live happily on a balcony or in a courtyard as long as it gets some sunshine during the day. Hebe ‘Verdi Crème’ has beautiful, evergreen, tricoloured foliage, in yellow, green and cream, which matures to form a compact, tidy, mounded shape. In May and June beautiful racemes of white blooms appear, often tinged with pink. Flowers seem to sparkle in the sunshine and draw in both pollinators and admiring eyes for a closer inspection. As a half-hardy, evergreen shrub Hebe ‘Verdi Crème’ will require some protection when temperatures are likely to drop below -5°C. A sheltered position with partial shade is ideal and any soil other than one with acid pH is ideal.
