Tell Me More...
Hamamelis vernalis ‘Amanda’ brings your winter garden valuable glowing yellow flowers from January to March each year. Elongated petals emerge from a darker calyx to create an explosion of tassels and gentle perfume – perfect inside your home as cut stems as well as in your garden. Verdant foliage is borne after the flowers, from March through to November time, and puts on a colourful display through autumn with shades of yellow and orange. Suitable for growing either as a shrub or pruning as a small tree and the perfect way to both open and close the gardening year with inspirational flashes of colour. Hamamelis vernalis ‘Amanda’ prefers moist, well-drained soil of any kind except chalk based. Plant in full sun or partial shade and this hardy (H5), deciduous shrub will reach a height and spread of around 4m once mature.
