Tell Me More...
Gillenia trifoliata 'Pink Profusion' is a dainty and delightful shrubby perennial with masses of star-shaped flowers borne on red stems, suspended above attractive three-leaved foliage from May to July each year. A worthy addition to the garden and visually akin to Gypsophylia in form. Foliage is borne from March until the first frosts and has shifts to yellow, red and orange hues in autumn for late season colour. Flowers also develop into attractive seedheads in winter.Gillenia trifoliata 'Pink Profusion' provides beneficial, weed-suppressing ground cover for up to 9 months of the year. Also known by the common name, Indian Physic as it was used in its country of origin, North America, as an emetic and laxative.Gillenia trifoliata 'Pink Profusion' prefers a site in part or full shade which benefits from well-drained soil with any aspect. Plants are fully hardy and herbaceous. They will happily live in a container and naturalise in the right conditions reaching an optimum height of 90cm with a spread of 75cm.
